Overpaying For Real Estate Is Still Going On In London Ontario

Over the last three months, overpaying for real estate in London, Ontario, has happened more often than not. Why?

  • Misinformed?
  • Emotions over ruled logic?
  • Rushing the process?
  • Ego? Keep up with the Jones?
  • Don’t Care?
  • That an offer on a house or condo and the acceptance of that offer is entirely out of your control?

Helplessness is a condition in which some adapt to a scarcity mindset,  with the fear of loss being huge and instant gratification a must & not thinking of the second and third consequences of overpaying for a home in London, Ontario and feeling that there is nothing anyone can do about it.

I am open to paying for the asking price if that asking price is less than I value it or if it is a street or area I want to live in for ten or more years.

History has proven that the consequences of overzealous buyers and their representative’s actions have skewed the market wherever this happens. As a home buyer in London, Ontario, you have choices, and there are strategies you can take to ensure you do not overpay and get caught up in a frenzy.

One of the best strategies is this: If your Realtor of choice views 50-100 homes a week and you view 5, who has better knowledge of price and condition? If your Realtor of choice negotiates 4-5 times weekly for their clients and you and your representative do not, who has better knowledge of negotiating, closing and serving their client better?

Sellers, if you are reading this, the same goes if your Realtor of choice views 50-100 homes a week, who has better knowledge of the market, and yes, you know your home better than anyone else, but the market does not care!

"Not All Realtors Are The Same"! This website and content are for you and are designed and constantly upgraded with the latest real estate trends, how-tos, and what is for sale on MLS. Our primary focus is guiding home buyers and sellers to make good decisions. We believe selling real estate is a process, not an event or knee-jerk reaction; we sleep well at night and ensure our clients do as well! We are not for everybody, nor can we please everybody, nor do we tell people what they want to hear; I know that may be old-fashioned and boring, but we are dealing with hundreds of thousands of your hard-earned money. Would you rather be happy, excited and bored or unhappy, excited and make a poor choice? About Ty I am a Broker with Sutton Group Preferred Realty Inc., Brokerage and the team leader for The Envelope Real Estate Group, that's enough about me! You see, this is about you, you do not want to hear blah blah stuff about awards, designations, or that we walk older adults across the street (I used to help old ladies cross the street, but as I got older I did not want my wife to think I was flirting) the reincarnation of Mother Teresa, walk on water or anything else to impress you. We let the numbers speak for themselves; success leaves clues!
